Descrizione

Isoproterenol is a drug that belongs to the class of organic compounds known as catecholamines and is used in the treatment of heart failure. Isoproterenol has been shown to increase blood flow, leading to an increased oxygen supply to the heart muscle cells. It also increases the heart rate and contractility, which improves cardiac output. Isoproterenol has been shown to reduce myocardial injury by decreasing the production of inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β). This drug also inhibits the Toll-like receptor 4 signaling pathway, which may be important for its anti-inflammatory effects.
