Descrizione

Iopanoic acid is a conjugate of the drug ursodeoxycholic acid. It is a diagnostic agent that is used to identify the presence of bile acids in the blood, which can be an indicator of bowel disease or congestive heart failure. Iopanoic acid has been shown to induce neuronal death in experimental models and has been used as a cytotoxic agent against skin cancer cells. The drug also has long-term efficacy in animal models for autoimmune diseases and other pharmacokinetic properties. Iopanoic acid has been shown to have therapeutic effects on symptoms related to autoimmune diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease and rheumatoid arthritis.
