Kuwanon A is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that belongs to the group of chinese herbs. It has been shown to be effective in treating bronchial asthma and can be used as an alternative or adjunct treatment for chronic asthma. Kuwanon A inhibits the production of prostaglandins, which play a major role in inflammation and pain. This drug also inhibits the activity of Cox-2, a key enzyme in the synthesis of prostaglandins. Kuwanon A has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit the production of cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α).
