N-alpha-Z-L-lysine is a protein inhibitor that inhibits the activity of endogenous adenosine, which is an important signaling molecule in the body. N-alpha-Z-L-lysine has been shown to inhibit the transport of peptides and lactams across membranes. It also prevents t cell proliferation and has an inhibitory effect on damaged cells, as well as preventing membrane transporter activity. N-alpha-Z-L-lysine is used in vivo to study the effects of endogenous adenosine.
