4-Methyl-N-(3-piperidin-1-ylpropyl)-6-(trifluoromethyl)furo[4,5-b]indole-2-carboxamide is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme COX that is used in the treatment of inflammation and pain. This drug has been shown to inhibit the formation of prostaglandins, which are hormone-like substances that contribute to inflammation and pain. It also has an inhibitory effect on dyslipidemia and insulin resistance, but it does not have an effect on platelet aggregation or bleeding time.
