It has been shown to be able to inhibit the formation of β-amyloid, which is associated with Alzheimer's disease. H-Met-Asp-OH also has been shown to have physicochemical properties similar to aspirin, and can be used as an antiplatelet agent. In addition, it has been shown to act as a catalase inhibitor in vitro and may have some therapeutic potential for the treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2.
