Descrizione

1-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrrole-2,5-dione is a co-catalyst that is used to promote the oxidation of organic pollutants in wastewater. It is typically used at temperatures between 100 and 200°C. The chloride ions are recycled during the process and sulfophenyl groups are minimized by using minimization agents such as dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate (DMAD) or rationalized by using methylbenzene or styrene. The wastewater can be stabilized by the addition of dehydrating agents such as filtration. 1-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrrole-2,5-dione has been found to be effective in the treatment of chlorinated solvents, benzene, ethylene glycols, and more.
