2-Methyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine is a ccr5 receptor antagonist that has been shown to have antagonist activity against the CCR5 receptor. This drug is used as an excipient in pharmaceuticals and medicaments. The most common use of 2-methyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine is as an antiinflammatory agent for the treatment of inflammatory diseases and inflammation. It has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of HIV infection. 2 methyl 4 5 6 7 tetrahydro 1 H imidazo 4 5 c pyridine antagonizes the ccr5 receptor by binding to it and preventing HIV from infecting human cells.
