Methyl 2-bromo-4-methoxybenzoate is an organic compound that can be used as a ligand in asymmetric hydrogenation. It is also used in the macrocyclization of allylphenols and biphenyls to form chiral atropisomers. The catalytic activity of this molecule is high, and it has been shown to be an effective catalyst for the production of these substances.

The 3-indoxyl β-D-galactopyranoside inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication.
