Methyltrioctadecylammoniumbromide is a cationic surfactant that can be used for the treatment of wastewater. It is an alkylating agent that inhibits bacterial growth through the oxidation of DNA and inhibition of protein synthesis. Methyltrioctadecylammoniumbromide has been shown to affect the expression of genes related to keratinocyte differentiation, such as functional groups, molecule, epidermal growth factor, collagen gel, and epidermal growth factor. The drug also has cell-regenerating properties and may be used for skin wound repair or for corneal epithelium regeneration.
