4-Methyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid is a sulphonamide that is related to thiazolones and pyrroles. It has been used as a vitamin and an insect pheromone. The methyl ester of 4-methyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid also acts as an antibacterial agent, while the amide form has antibiotic activity. This substance has been researched for its possible use in the treatment of tuberculosis.
