Informazioni sul prodotto
- (5-Methoxypyridin-3-yl)boronic acid
- boronic acid, B-(5-methoxy-3-pyridinyl)-
- (5-Methoxy-3-Pyridinyl)Boronic Acid
5-Methoxypyridine-3-boronic acid is a glutamate receptor antagonist that has been shown to be selective for the ionotropic glutamate receptors. This compound has been shown to inhibit recombinant ionotropic glutamate receptor subtypes in rat brain tissue and to block the binding of glutamate, as well as other agonists, to these ionotropic receptors in rat cortical synaptosomes. The affinity of 5-methoxypyridine-3-boronic acid for the ionotropic glutamate receptors is competitively inhibited by the presence of agonists such as quisqualic acid and kainate. 5-Methoxypyridine-3-boronic acid also produces a concentration dependent blockade of excitatory postsynaptic currents (EPSCs) in hippocampal neurons.
