7-methoxynaphthalen-1-ol is a hydrogen chloride that catalyzes the conversion of 5-hydroxytryptamine to 5-hydroxyindole. It can also be used as a precursor for dyes or pharmaceuticals because it is easily reduced and converted into other products.
