2-[5-[3-(4-Methylsulfonylamino)benzyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl]-1H-indol-3-yl]ethanamine dihydrate is a potent 5HT receptor agonist with high selectivity for the 5HT7 receptor. In vivo studies have shown that this compound has anti-migraine activity without inducing motor impairment or cognitive deficits. 2-[5-[3-(4-Methylsulfonylamino)benzyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl]-1H-indol-3-yl]ethanamine dihydrate also acts as a potent inhibitor of cyclase enzymes and atp sensitive potassium channels. This drug binds to receptors in the central nervous system and can be used to treat migraine headaches and other conditions such as depression and anxiety.
