3-Methoxycarbonylphenylboronic acid pinacol ester is a boronic acid derivative that has been shown to inhibit the glycolysis of trypanosoma. This compound also interacts with the amastigote stage of the parasite, preventing it from multiplying and causing its death. 3-Methoxycarbonylphenylboronic acid pinacol ester is an inorganic molecule that also inhibits the growth of other organisms such as bacteria, fungi, and yeast. It has been shown to be effective against human cells in culture but does not affect normal cells. 3-Methoxycarbonylphenylboronic acid pinacol ester is a potent inhibitor of enzymes involved in glycolysis and can be used as a medicinal agent for the treatment of trypanosomal infections.
