2-Methyl-5H-dibenzazepine is an organic compound that belongs to the group of anthranilic acids, which are naturally occurring in microalgae. It is a volatile liquid that has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against certain bacteria, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. 2-Methyl-5H-dibenzazepine inhibits the production of biogenic amines, such as tyramine and trimethylamine, by inhibiting the enzyme monoamine oxidase.
