- 6-Methoxy-1,3-dihydroindol-2-one
- 6-methoxy-1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one
- 6-Methoxyoxindole
6-Methoxy-2-oxindole is a metabolite of the synthetic drug indole that has been shown to inhibit the metabolism of other drugs. It has been shown to be an inhibitor of hepatic microsomal hydroxylation and a competitive inhibitor of guinea pig liver preparations. 6-Methoxy-2-oxindole has been shown to be metabolized by oxidation, hydroxylation, and conjugation with phenolic compounds. This metabolite can also inhibit the metabolism of other drugs by competing for the same metabolic enzymes.
