2-Methylthiazolidine is a chemical that has been found in human urine. It can be used as a biomarker for exposure to environmental substances, such as acetaldehyde. 2-Methylthiazolidine has also been shown to stimulate the behavioral response of mice to pheromones. This chemical reacts with nucleobases and aromatic amines to form adducts that are detectable by chromatographic methods. 2-Methylthiazolidine is found in combination preparations with acetaldehyde, which may be due to its ability to react chemically with this substance.
