4-(Methylthio)thiophenol is a chemokine that is the result of the reaction between piperazine and methyl mercaptan. It has an efficiency method for its synthesis, which involves dispersive polymerization in micelles. 4-(Methylthio)thiophenol reacts with tribromide to form methylene-4-bromothiophene, which can be used as a solvent for silicon.
