Informazioni sul prodotto
- 2-Methyl-8-methoxyquinoline
8-Methoxy-2-methylquinoline (8MMQ) is a quinoline derivative with two methoxy groups. It is synthesized from 2,5-dimethoxyaniline and 2,4,6-trimethylaniline. 8MMQ is used in diagnostic assays for the detection of staphylococcus. The enhancement effect of 8MMQ on the reactivity of fluorometric probes has been shown to be dependent on the electron donor properties of the multinuclear metal complex. The reaction products depend on the nature and concentration of proton donors and/or acceptors present in solution. 8MMQ reacts with ammonium nitrate to form a blue product that absorbs light at 540 nm. This reaction can be used as an analytical method for determining ammonium nitrate content in fertilizers.
