Methyl 6-bromo-1H-indazole-3-carboxylate (MBIC) is a hydrophobic and downregulating molecule that has been shown to be selective for the inhibition of kinases. MBIC inhibits the activity of kinase enzymes, which are involved in cell proliferation and tumour growth. Kinases are also associated with cancer. This drug was found to have antitumour activity in vitro and in vivo by inhibiting the growth of MDA-MB-231 cells, as well as inhibiting tumour growth in mice. MBIC is not hydrophilic, but it does exhibit good physicochemical properties and can be used for drug discovery purposes.
