Informazioni sul prodotto
2-Methoxy-3,5-dimethylbenzaldehyde is a regioselective dialkylation intermediate. It reacts with an aldehyde to form an acylation intermediate that can be used in the synthesis of indanones and other natural products. This compound has been used in the synthesis of chloroacetyl and acylated analogues of friedelanes.
2-Methoxy-3,5-dimethylbenzaldehyde is prepared by reacting benzaldehyde with methoxymethyltriphenylphosphonium chloride. The product contains two methyl groups at the 3 and 5 position on the benzene ring, which distinguishes it from other dialkylation intermediates containing only one methyl group at these positions.
