Descrizione

2-(2-Methoxyethoxy)ethanamine is a synthetic chemical that has been shown to have potential for use in the treatment of bowel disease and cancer. It is a prodrug that is cleaved by enzymes in the body to form 2-methoxyethanol, which is a precursor for picolinic acid. Picolinic acid inhibits cancer growth by inhibiting the production of methionine from homocysteine, which leads to the accumulation of homocysteine in cancerous cells. Picolinic acid also has anti-inflammatory activity, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
