3,4-Methylenedioxybenzyl cyanide is a chemical compound that is used to treat cancer. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of human cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. This compound binds to DNA and forms a covalent bond with the N7 nitrogen atom of guanine, which prevents replication. 3,4-Methylenedioxybenzyl cyanide also inhibits the activity of enzymes involved in DNA synthesis and cell division.
