4-Methylphenethylamine is a molecule that has viscosity. It is a potential use for inhibiting the enzyme molecules that are responsible for the synthesis of amide, which is an important component of amino acid metabolism. 4-Methylphenethylamine also inhibits liver amide, which is involved in the metabolism and storage of amino acids. 4-Methylphenethylamine may be used to study how environmental pollution affects human health by preventing the production of growth factors in cells. It has been shown to have a potent inhibition on indole alkaloid and receptor binding activities. This drug may also be used as a treatment for Parkinson's Disease by preventing dopamine from being degraded into 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid.
