N-methyl Leukotriene C4 is a synthetic drug that is used to treat high blood pressure. It is a leukotriene antagonist that inhibits the synthesis of leukotrienes in mammals. N-methyl Leukotriene C4 has been shown to antagonize the effects of muscle contraction, and can be used as a muscle relaxant. This drug also has an affinity for the lungs, regulating airway tone and preventing bronchoconstriction. N-methyl Leukotriene C4 is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes in the liver and extravasation into tissues can result in adverse effects such as tissue necrosis and gangrene. The effects of this drug are dose-dependent, with low doses showing hypotensive properties and high doses causing vasoconstriction.
