D-Neopentylglycine is an analog of the amino acid glycine. It is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water and ethanol. D-Neopentylglycine has been shown to have high efficiency as an insulin-like growth factor receptor agonist and may be used as a potential therapeutic treatment for cardiovascular diseases and hypertension. The compound has also been shown to inhibit phospholipase C, protein kinase C, and Rho-kinase.
