2-Oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carboximidamide dihydrochloride (ODPC) is a ligand that binds to a metal ion and can act as a catalyst for reactions. It has been shown to be an effective ligand for nickel in the coordination sphere of the metal ion. ODPC has been shown experimentally to bind with a thiolate group, which is an electron donor. ODPC has also been shown to transfer electrons from one molecule to another, which may be due to its ability to bind with an anion.
