OP-5244 is an adenosine analog that has been shown to inhibit the growth of human cancer cells in culture. It inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by binding to phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase and inhibiting its activity. OP-5244 also inhibits tumor metastasis, and has been shown to reduce the size of tumors in mice. This drug is being researched for its ability to induce immunosuppression, as it has been found to have an immunosuppressive effect on T lymphocytes in vitro.
