OVA(323-339) is an antigen that belongs to the group of peptides. It is a recombinant protein that has been synthesized in bacteria and purified with affinity chromatography. OVA(323-339) induces an immune response in mice and has potent antitumor activity. This peptide can be used as an adjuvant for vaccines or as a tumor-targeting agent, which could potentially be used to treat inflammatory diseases. The function of OVA(323-339) has been shown using structural analysis on mouse strains with activated immune systems. This antigen binds to the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules on the surface of antigen presenting cells (APCs). The binding causes endocytosis, leading to uptake and stable complexes.
