Palladium(II) hexafluoroacetylacetonate is a palladium complex that can be used to study the interaction of palladium with various substrates. Palladium(II) hexafluoroacetylacetonate is obtained when palladium reacts with hexafluoroacetylacetone with the help of a solvent. This reaction has been shown to occur in a thin film on silicon, which can be used as a substrate for the deposition of other materials. The functional theory of this reaction suggests that the surface of the substrate is reduced by the presence of palladium(II) hexafluoroacetylacetonate and produces a thin film on silicon, which can be used as a substrate for deposition. Palladium(II) hexafluoroacetylacetonate has also been shown to efficiently catalyze transmetallation reactions between organometallic compounds and metal ions, such as fluorine and platinum.
