3-Phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid is a carboxylic acid that has been shown to have antibacterial properties. The photophysical properties and supramolecular interactions of 3-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid and its metal complexes have been investigated. This molecule has been shown to form channels in the membrane and stabilize lipid bilayers, which may be due to hydrogen bonds with the hydrophobic interior of the membrane. 3-Phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid also exhibits stability against degradation by light and air, which may be due to its low energy transition.
