2-Propylmalonic acid is an organic compound that is a derivative of malonic acid. It has a three-carbon chain and a hydroxyl group. 2-Propylmalonic acid can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other ester compounds, such as methyl esters, which are used in detergent compositions.
