L-Proline Hydrochloride is an ester compound that is used in the synthesis of pharmaceutical preparations. L-Proline Hydrochloride also has antioxidant properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit serine protease activity. This substance also has a phase transition temperature of about -17°C and can be used as a cryoprotectant in the manufacture of vaccines.
L-Proline hydrochloride is an essential amino acid that is synthesized from lysine and serine by means of a synthetic pathway involving 5-membered heteroaryl compounds such as pyrrole or furan.
