4-Phenylpyrimidine-2-carboxylic acid is an antibacterial agent that belongs to the class of coordination complexes. It has been shown to have bactericidal activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Ciprofloxacin-resistant E. coli, and other Gram-positive bacteria. The antibacterial activity of 4-phenylpyrimidine-2-carboxylic acid is due to its ability to bind to the metal ion in the bacterial cell wall and interfere with the enzyme's function.
