Descrizione

Prostaglandin A1 is a member of the group P2 class of prostaglandins. It is synthesized from arachidonic acid and is found in human serum, as well as in other tissues. Prostagladin A1 has the ability to inhibit viral replication, which may be due to its ability to activate IL-2 receptors on human lymphocytes. This compound also has antiinflammatory properties and has been shown to decrease the production of IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-8 in HL-60 cells. Prostaglandin A1 has synergistic effects with other drugs such as erythromycin and ciprofloxacin when used against bacteria that are resistant to these agents.
