3-Phenyl-3-hydroxypropylamine is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes such as nucleophilic, metal cations, and high detection. The enzyme inhibition is due to its ability to act as an inhibitor by binding to the active site of the enzyme. 3-Phenyl-3-hydroxypropylamine has been found in a number of biological systems including viruses, bacteria, and human cells. It has also been shown to be effective against immunodeficiencies such as HIV and cancerous cells by inhibiting viral replication through competitive inhibition with viral reverse transcriptase. 3-Phenyl-3-hydroxypropylamine inhibits protein synthesis by acting as an inhibitor on RNA polymerase II. This drug also binds water molecules and can form hydrogen bonds with other compounds. 3-Phenyl-3-hydroxypropylamine is used in the treatment of some cancers such as leukemia
