Descrizione

Precocene 2 is a chemical pesticide that inhibits the enzyme activity of aminotransferase and fatty acid synthase. It has been shown to have genotoxic activity, with an effect on the basic structure of DNA and irreversible inhibition of protein synthesis. Precocene 2 binds to the active site of the enzyme, which prevents it from binding to its substrate. Precocene 2 also has a toxic effect on gland cells and receptor cells in rats. The metabolic profiles of precocene 2 are very similar to those found in rat liver microsomes, suggesting that this chemical may be metabolized by these enzymes.
