Informazioni sul prodotto
- 4-(Pyridin-2-yl)benzoyl chloride
- (4-Chlorophenyl)(Pyridin-2-Yl)Methanone
4-(2-Pyridinyl)benzoyl chloride is an enzyme inhibitor that inhibits the activity of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), an enzyme that plays a role in the production of aldosterone, a hormone involved in regulating blood pressure. 4-(2-Pyridinyl)benzoyl chloride has been shown to inhibit ACE activity and to be effective in lowering blood pressure. This drug also has been found to be chiral and can exist as two enantiomers. The two forms are non-superimposable mirror images of each other, meaning they cannot be superimposed on one another. This property makes it difficult to separate the two forms using traditional methods such as crystallization or chromatography. Asymmetric synthesis is used to produce one form of 4-(2-pyridinyl)benzoyl chloride from the other, which is then purified for use in clinical trials.
