10H-Pyrido[3,2-b][1,4]benzothiazine is a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound that has been shown to have bactericidal activity against a number of bacterial strains. It is not active against human cells. 10H-Pyrido[3,2-b][1,4]benzothiazine has been used as an experimental model for the study of autoimmune diseases. This drug has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines in cell cultures and to reduce the symptoms of experimental chronic arthritis in mice. 10H-Pyrido[3,2-b][1,4]benzothiazine also possesses antihistaminergic and anticholinergic properties that make it useful as a pharmaceutical preparation for urticaria and other allergic reactions.
