1-Phenyl-cyclopropane-carbonitrile is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of heterocyclic compounds. It contains a carbonyl group, a nitrogen atom and a chlorine atom. 1-Phenyl-cyclopropane-carbonitrile binds to the kinesin protein and inhibits its activity. This leads to the interruption of protein synthesis and cell division. 1-Phenyl-cyclopropane-carbonitrile also blocks the activity of serine protease, an enzyme that plays an important role in protein degradation, resulting in metabolic disorders. It has been shown to be effective against c1-6 alkyl, fluorine and 5 membered heteroaryl groups.
