Descrizione

Pentafluorobenzoic acid (PFBA) is an organic compound that belongs to the group of organic fluorine compounds. It has a molecular weight of 176.2 grams per mole and a molecular formula of CF5COOH. It is soluble in water, alcohols, and ethers, but insoluble in benzene and chloroform. PFBA has a redox potential of -0.34 V, which means it can be used as an oxidizing agent. This chemical is stable in air at room temperature for up to 60 days, but decomposes when heated to temperatures over 250°C or exposed to light for prolonged periods of time.
