3-Phenylpiperidine hydrochloride (3PPH) is a drug that has been postulated to be an inhibitor of phosphatases. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of the enzyme matrix metalloproteinase, which is involved in tumor invasion and metastasis. 3PPH also binds to the dopamine receptor, but with a lower affinity than other ligands. 3PPH has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on dopamine induced phosphatase activation in HL-60 cells.
