2-Pyrrolidin-2-yl-1H-indole is a synthetic compound that inhibits the enzyme synthase, which is involved in the synthesis of prostaglandins. It has been shown to have analgesic effect and also reduces inflammation. 2-Pyrrolidin-2-yl-1H-indole has been reported to be effective for the treatment of arteriosclerosis, inflammatory pain, and cerebral ischaemia. It also can be used as a medicament for sclerosis, inflammation, alzheimer's disease and migraine. Additionally, this compound may be used to treat septicemic meningitis and cerebral ischaemia. 2-Pyrrolidin-2-yl-1H-indole has been shown to reduce diabetes by its ability to inhibit the activity of acetylcholinesterase in erythrocytes.
