- NSC 119037
3-Phenyl-Cyclohexanone is a cyclohexanone that has conformational properties, which are important for the catalytic effect. It is an ancillary and possesses phenyl groups. 3-Phenyl-Cyclohexanone has a dipole moment and vibrational properties. This molecule can be modified to produce chiral molecules by adding a chloride or hydrogen bond. 3-Phenyl-Cyclohexanone has been synthesized using the cross coupling reaction with 4-methylphenylboronic acid in order to produce an asymmetric synthesis. The nucleophilic addition of 3-Phenyl-Cyclohexanone to benzaldehyde produces a product called cyclohexenone, which is used for the production of dyes and perfumes.
