4-Phenyl-pyridin-2-ylamine is a heterocyclic compound that is a potent antagonist of the histamine H4 receptor. It has shown to have antihistaminic effects in mice and rats, as well as inhibiting allergic reactions. The structure of 4-phenyl-pyridin-2-ylamine consists of two benzene rings joined by an amide linkage to form a biaryl group. This compound also has the ability to induce sleep, which may be due to its antagonistic effects on the histamine H1 receptor.
