[6,6]-Phenyl-C61-butyric Acid n-Octyl Ester is a light-emitting polymer with high fluorescence quantum yield. It can be used to fabricate fluorescent sensors for environmental pollutants and biological markers. [6,6]-Phenyl-C61-butyric Acid n-Octyl Ester is composed of a phenyl group and a butyric acid molecule. The phenyl group has an electron donating effect on the butyric acid molecule, which results in the formation of a conjugated system that emits light when excited by an external energy source such as visible light or ultraviolet radiation. This polymer is soluble in water and can be functionalized with various chemical groups.
