Rubidium tellurate is a sulfate salt of rubidium. It crystallizes in the tetragonal system and is an inorganic compound. Rubidium tellurate has been analysed thermodynamically and has been shown to have parameters that are similar to those of other sulfates. Rubidium tellurate was first synthesized by heating the sodium salt of rubidium with sulfuric acid at temperatures around 200°C. The crystals were purified by sublimation, which involved heating them to temperatures above 400°C and then allowing them to cool slowly. Rubidium tellurate can be used as a material for solar cells due to its chemical stability and semiconducting properties.
