Rac-ketoprofen amide is a lipid peroxidation inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit the activity of soybean lipoxygenase. Rac-ketoprofen amide has shown to inhibit the activity of other enzymes, such as enzymes containing amines and sequences with hydrogen bonds. It also has a specific effect on the enzyme activities of lipoxygenase. Rac-ketoprofen amide is an inhibitor of prostaglandin synthesis that may be useful for the treatment of inflammation and pain.
