W-54011 is a potentiator of C5a receptor antagonist. It is a protein that binds to the C5a receptor and prevents it from binding to its ligand, C5a. W-54011 has been shown to reduce inflammation in human lung tissues, which may be due to the inhibition of TNF-α and IL-1β production. In animals, W-54011 has been shown to inhibit anaphylatoxin-induced responses, such as airway constriction and vascular permeability. This drug also reduces anaphylactic reactions in humans.
